Abstract

A solar cell, also known as a photovoltaic cell, is an apparatus that uses sunlight to directly produce electricity. However, a number of reasons may contribute to its low operational efficiency. This paper covers therefore the most essential elements that determine the efficiency of solar cells which are: Cell Temperature, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Energy Conversion Efficiency. Optimizing these variables would undoubtedly increase solar cell efficiency for a more dependable use case.
